Strengthening Exercises Are a Must If you Are To Improve Your Running

It is so important that you add a Strengthening Exercise programme to your running programme. You can use your own body weight, use light weights at home or go to your local gym to take advantage of the weights and machines that they have there.

We have devised a whole series of strengthening programmes here for you; some using your own body weight and some using weights. You can mix and match but we have put them into specific muscle groups but it is important to remember that these exercises are NOT for building muscle, but simply to strengthen you. This will eventually make your running much more enjoyable, reduce the risk of injury and inevitably help you to run faster.
