Very interesting article! I think many people would give up if like Peter they came back from a run sweating and unable to breathe to be told "oh, I saw you out jogging". I'm a runner and proud of it.

Cannot agree more with the sentiments in this article. We are always so quick to take criticism and let it make us feel down, especially as women when we're maybe trying to work, keep the home running and find time for a run. I know I am guilty of often feeling after a run that I could have done better, instead of saying to myself that hey, I got out there and ran, doesn't matter if it was slow/not long enough!
Come on girls, we're all brilliant - we should celebrate that we are off that sofa and exercising when so many people moan about life!!
Some of these tips are so obvious I tend to forget about them, if that makes sense! Good to be reminded about safety now that the dark evenings are here, particularly for new runners. Thank you.
